A New Arena for Arina!

Arina, creator of striking, dramatic works, met up with our very own aspiring artist, Chantal Jameson, for a private view at Lyes & Jones. From the pioneering days of Roy Miles at his Bruton Street gallery with artist Sergey Chepik way back when, Russian art is now a steadfast part of the exhibition circuit. So it’s no longer enough to claim the heritage of the Caucuses to attract attention. Need a new wheeze.
So paint in cadmium red.
LOL!
Continuing the tradition of Cindy Sherman and featuring in her own works, Arina creates theatrical pieces evoking a mood of escape.
As Arina herself says:”Red colour is very meaningful to me. In many cultures red often symbolises passion and love, in the Tibetan philosophy red symbolises connection with the Universe. In Russian language, particularly in Russian folklore red often means beautiful. Dostoyevsky once said ‘Beauty will save the world’ and I am convinced that images and objects created with love and faith in love can have an immense influence on physical and mental state of the beholders.”
A bit deep for a first conversation perhaps, but you get the idea.
