Yep – there was sharkbite flavored popcorn, lovely and fishy, savory tasting; shaken not stirred – olive and gin tasting popcorn and even Edith Bowman flavoured popcorn created by Michelin Star chef Simon Hulstone. OK I lied about nibbling on Edith, but there was curry and caramel popcorn. And Edith Bowman. In person. Along with a flurry of other celebrities and Faris Alexander L. Albayaty – or Alex Zane to you and me.

Goodness knows if James Corden, Louis Smith, Laura Whitmore, Greg James, Craig Roberts or Kara Tointon turned up – I was too busy dealing with an over supply of Tattinger. (Oh – I’m told they did. Sweet)

So anyway, BA. You can’t fault their events. Even when Jaws and Skyfall had a simultaneous Dreamliner moment and disappeared off the screens, the BA crew appeared with champagne, icecream, popcorn and other treats. Yeah – we’d seen the films before – but this was the first time I got to actually enjoy Skyfall. And when you can see it on a big screen at the same time as peeking at Slumdog Millionaire you also get to realise what a great director Danny Boyle is. When will they let him loose on Daniel Craig? (Not that Mendez isn’t great too, grovel, grovel)

So – BA – all in all a great fun quality event. Great promo for the brand. No sign of the dreadful rent-a-crowd so loved of most London event organisers. Come on guys – learn from the pros. No need to invite every Tom, Dick and Harry in the hope that they’ll spout bountifully about the hot sweaty queue for drinks. No – just invite the people who matter. Yeah baby, I mean ME!
