Peckham Rye Music Festival – No Wellies Required!

By Hannah Phillips
Braving the rain in the middle of London’s parks not your thing? Look no further than May’s inaugural Peckham Rye Music Festival to kick off your festival season good and proper – and without a pair of wellies in sight.
Celebrating the area’s rising local music scene, Peckham’s leading venues – the Bussey Building and Canavan’s Peckham Pool Club alone should be enough to tempt the regular party-goers – will be opening their doors to the artists, labels and record shops shaping SW15’s current vibe. And already, the first line-up announcement boasts a host of exciting UK talent, including Benji B, Mickey Pearce, Bass Clef and Wbeeza, plus headline act MM/KM – a collaboration between two of Germany’s premier house/techno artists, Kassem Mosse and Mix Mup.
With loads more artists to be announced, take your pick from a selection of workshops and seminars on Friday, all-day dancing on Saturday and the chillest of Sundays that would make Craig David proud. And did we mention – no muddy fields?
Early bird weekend tickets are on sale now at £18, for those who know what’s good for you.
13th – 15th May. Various locations in Peckham. www.peckhamryemusicfestival.co.uk.
