London Zoo – a family day out!

By Sophie Parkinson
Taking the kids to ZSL, London Zoo this summer is the perfect excuse to go and see the cuddly new-born Sumatran tiger cubs. As two of the world’s rarest tigers this is an opportunity not to be missed – they grow up so fast (as we know so well know from watching our own little monkeys)! As well as the tiger cubs, there are many other photogenic babies to find – monkeys and froglets to name a few!
Other exciting activities include penguin displays, walking amongst the lemurs (no ice creams allowed!) and playing in the butterfly enclosure. The more peculiar animals, such as the sassy pygmy-hippos and okapi, provoke many questions from little ‘uns; fortunately there are plenty of information placards to help you answer all their questions.
And if you need a summer holiday from cooking, the canteen is buzzing with hundreds of scrumptious options to make your life that little bit easier.
In the meantime, here’s a little monkey to swap yours for!
