Carrie Hope Fletcher is an actress, author and vlogger.

Shiv Rabheru
Following The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Shiv will appear in the world premier of musical Mandela, directed by Schele Williams and produced in partnership with the titular family at the Young Vic.
In 2017, Shiv played Cy in the original Sheffield Crucible production of hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and went on to reprise his role in the 2018 West End transfer at the London Apollo.

Adeola Yemitan
Adeola has just finished playing Lucy in the UK tour of Supernova. Prior to this, the play opened and ran at Theatre 503. Adeola has recently finished performing as Ursula in the RSC’S Much Ado About Nothing and was the starring role in Antigone at Colchester Mercury Theatre. She is a poet, musician and songwriter and has worked closely with the NYT, directing several of their productions and writing songs for their repertory theatre company. Adeola is member of the Southbank Centre Poetry Collective.

Steve Waters – Adaptor
Steve Waters’s many plays include Limehouse (2017) and Temple (2015) for the Donmar Warehouse, Little Platoons (2011) and The Contingency Plan (2009) for the Bush Theatre; he has written extensively for radio including the four-part Song of the Reed for Radio 4 and the award-winning Fall of the Shah for BBC World Service. His books include A Life in 16 Films: How Cinema Made Me a Playwright (Bloomsbury, 2021) and The Secret Life of Plays (Nick Hern, 2010). He is Professor of Scriptwriting at the University of East Anglia.
Michael Henry – Composer and Musical Director
Michael is a composer, vocalist and BBTA award-nominated musical director who studied clarinet and composition at the Royal College of Music.
He has undertaken the dual role of composer and musical director on numerous projects including Mr Burns and They Drink It In The Congo (Almeida Theatre), Boi Boi Is Dead (Leeds Playhouse, Watford Palace Theatre, Tiata Fahodzi), Barber Shop Chronicles (National Theatre), The Bloomsbury Songbook (Bloomsbury Festival), The Long Song (Chichester Festival Theatre) and the online theatrical anthology On Hostile Ground (hosted by the Royal & Derngate Theatre). He has also been a vocalist, composer and MD with a cappella groups Flying Pickets and The Shout.
Other compositions include the opera Circus Tricks (for Tête A Tête), Rocket Symphony (a piece for 500 voices and fireworks, co-composed with Orlando Gough, for the European Capital of Culture, Linz), Stand for 16 voices (BBC Proms) and the internationally popular series of clarinet quartets Birdwatching. Composition awards include the Stanford, Horowitz and Cornelius Cardew prizes.
He has acted as musical director/performer in numerous productions including The Amen Corner, Emperor and Galilean and Death and the King’s Horseman (National Theatre); FEAST (Young Vic); May Contain Food (Protein Dance Company) and The Pet Shop Boys’ debut international tour in 1989.
Other work as musical director includes An Octoroon, Three Sisters and FELA! (National Theatre); Our Lady Of Kibeho (Royal & Derngate, Theatre Royal Stratford); SYLVIA (Old Vic) and The Brothers Size (Young Vic).

Christopher Haydon – Director
Christopher Haydon is artistic director of Rose Theatre, Kingston. Prior to that, he was artistic director of the Gate Theatre from 2012-2017, and from 2008-2011, was associate director at the Bush Theatre. He was a 2017 fellow of the Clore Leadership Programme.

This is Oli’s first show at the Rose. His designs were part of the British team in the Prague quadrennial in 1988 and he was a finalist in the World Stage Design competition in 2013. Gareth Fry – Sound Designer
Gareth Fry is a sound designer, best known for his cutting-edge work in theatre, and his collaborations with many leading UK theatre directors and companies. His work includes over 20 productions at the National Theatre, over 20 at the Royal Court and countless more at venues such as the Bridge Theatre, Old Vic, Young Vic, in the West End and many more.
He has also designed events and exhibitions, from the V&A’s landmark David Bowie Is exhibition, to being asked by Danny Boyle to design the sound effects for the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.
He is a specialist in the use of binaural sound, used in Complcité’s The Encounter, numerous VR experiences, podcasts and advertising campaigns, including for Bose, Volvo and Land Rover. HIs work in VR has been featured at the Tribeca, Vienna and Sundance Festivals.
He regularly runs workshops for directors exploring how they can use sound design in their work. These workshops have been commissioned by the National Theatre, Sadler’s Wells, Complicité, the Prague Quadrennial, Mousetrap Theatre Projects, NSDF, the Brit School, the JMK Awards, Birkbeck College and the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.
He is a founder of and spent six years as the chair of the Association of Sound Designers, a charity that works to support people working in and entering the UK theatre sound industry. Gareth is an honorary fellow of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He is the author of Sound Design for the Stage, published in 2019 by Crowood Press. He has contributed to BBC Radio 4’s World at One and the World Service, to talk about the use of sound.
Awards include three Olivier Awards, two Tony Awards, two Drama Desk Awards, two Helpmann Awards and an Evening Standard Award.
Layla Madanat – Associate Director
Layla Madanat works across the cultural and social impact sectors as a director, dramaturg, producer and researcher. Combining creative and academic approaches, Layla creates live relationships between artistic projects and social justice causes. Previously Assistant to the Artistic Director on Good Chance’s The Walk, Layla is also co-creator of mosaic, an archival project documenting stories of SWANA youth, with their XR project in development featured at Sheffield Doc Fest and the BFI London Film Festival in 2021.
She was shortlisted in 2021 for the inaugural Evening Standard Future Theatre Fund in the Directing/Theatre-Making Category, and has been selected for training cohorts with Paines Plough, The Orange Tree, Shubbak Festival and Sour Lemons (now the What If Experiment).
